Name: Jenru Matsubayashi

Age: 50

Alias: Blind-man, Gray Scale, Zatoichi, Gouzen-Koe Sono Zatoichi. (Roaring voice of the blind swordsman.)

Personality: Not to worried about anything since he is seen as a good man in most of the community. He has helped other in many ways and in exchange they are willing to help him. His friendly attitude is fairly infectious. Has a constant positive outlook on life and the people in it. Since it is incredibly difficult to lay a hand on him he's a fairly laid back person.

Powers: Not born with them but they are present nonetheless. His hearing and sense of touch are new eyes. His hearing is not controllable however and prefers people speak softly while around him. Because of this he tends to wear earplugs around alot.
His sense of touch is very sensitive as well. He can tell how many people are in a three story building by placing a hand on it and feeling the tremors. Because of these two "Abilities" he relies on his feet and ears to give him feed back during fights.

History/Background: When he was born there was nothing special about Jenru. He was simply a normal kid with a normal life. He grew up and went to school like any one else. During a class assignment he was required to look up his family history to see if he was related to any one important in history. He found out that his dad's side was related to one of may samurai while his mothers side was related to a clan of ninja back in the era where the two fought with each other quite often.
Jenru thought that he was the missing link to putting these two together and figured he could be a super hero and fight crime. At the age of 14 He learned very quickly that he could not. His first attempt was met with a straight beat down from 20 or so men working on something that seemed very secret. After beating on him for a while they decided to pour the excess form the chemicals they were working with on his face. The chemicals didn't burn the skin but did cause permanent blindness and skin discoloration. After he was taken to the hospital his skin began slowly turning more and more gray as time passed.

After his recovery from the hospital he began noticing that his hearing was quite a bit better then it was before. As he listened it was like the sound painted a picture in his head of what was around him, though for the first few years it was a black and white picture. As years yet on he began listening more intently and color started re-entering his mind. It was because of this ability that he was Recruited by Past Corporation. They trained him with basic knowledge of most of their hunters. At the age of 42 Jenru finally met the peak of his ability. He was now able to hear all movement going on within a mile of his current location. He was only able to add color to the first block but now there was no possible way to sneak up on him. He didn't feel right with the work he was doing for The Company, or rather did not like how it was done. He decided to leave the Company without telling them knowing this decision would possibly get him killed if he were to say it to the Chairman's face. So he waited for a mission and simply did not complete it and left.

He tried once again to fight crime for a while with a sword at his side. He succeeded in apprehending or killing any criminal life he trailed and was eventually feared by most of the negative element. He now works as an independent source of information. He was able to gather information about anyone just by going the the places they frequent and listening to the crowds.*
Appearance: Long black hair that reaches about to his waist. He keeps a pair of sunglasses on to signify he is blind.


Additional info:Though he is blind he hears exceptionally well. He can tell you what color shirt someone a mile away is wearing from the the way the air moves through it's fibers. There is no physical attribute that can be hidden from him. (I.E invisibility does not work against him.) His Hand ear coordination is far above excellent. A person must overpower him to hit him.

The tremors of what? He could feel the tremors of other people walking in or their heart beat

So... He's not permanently blind?

1. He feels the tremors of them walking yes and talking. I figured feeling a heartbeat was a bit of a stretch, even for a super hero.

2. In reference to his blindness. He is blind in the fact that he can not use his eyes anymore. He can, however, receive more information from his ears and skin then he ever could have with his eyes.

Example: with only eyes a person can see what is in front and somewhat to the side of them.
With Jenru's powers he can Feel and Hear above, below, behind, in front of, beside for approx three city blocks.

Basically he understands what is going on all around him, not just directly in front of him. Does that make a little more sense?
